SBAC Welcomes New Board and Loan Committee Members

SBAC Board and Loan Committee Members with SBAC Staff at Second Harvest

SBAC's New Volunteer Orientation on October 9, 2024, at Second Harvest of Coastal Georgia introduced new Board and Loan Committee members to our mission and goals.

New Board members include Jeffrey Heeder (Morgan Stanley), Emily Kutcher (Fifth Third Bank), and Dan Pavlin (Bernard Williams & Co.). The Loan Committee welcomed Matt Ambrosy (Great Oaks Bank), Ty Guyton (First Citizens Bank), Sarah Martin (Bank OZK), and Rachel White (Truist).

After the orientation, attendees visited SBAC-funded Savannah businesses, showcasing our significant role in driving local economic growth.  Learn more at SBAC Overview.

Mahogany Bowers, owner of Y Bar Savannah, an event venue and youga studio, expresses her gratitude for SBAC's support. She obtained both an SBA Micro Loan and a City of Savannah Loan, which were crucial in securing the funding and technical assistance needed to expand her business in Savannah, GA

SBAC Launches Business Empowerment Workshops for its Small Business Clients

The Business Empowerment cohort, Nadia Osman of Blue Edge Business Solutions, and the SBAC TA Department staff after the first session on Social Media Basics.

SBAC is excited to introduce the "Social Media Basics and Beyond" program with Blue Edge Business Solutions.  This six-month workshop equips SBAC's small business clients with essential skills to leverage social media for growth. Starting October 16, 2024, participants will gain practical, hands-on training to create a tailored social media marketing plan. As part of the SBAC Business Empowerment initiative, we aim to provide the vital skills needed for small businesses to thrive in today's dynamic landscape. [Read More...]

T. McCoy Cornerstone Award Nomination

Attention employers!

Honor your exceptional administrative professional by nominating them for SBAC’s T. McCoy Cornerstone Award.

Submit their details and a brief narrative of their excellence to win a plaque and $500.

Note: Nominees must be within SBAC's service area of Southeast GA and the Lowcountry of SC.

Deadline: Friday, November 12, 2024, at 5:00 p.m.

The award winner will be announced on Wednesday, December 4, 2024, during our Annual Holiday Luncheon.
